Valiyathura Pier

About 10 km from Kovalam, is the scenic Valiathura Pier which is usually frequented by local fishermen. During the monsoons, when the sea is rough, fishermen cannot take the boat and fish. So they throw the catamarans in sea from the pier and swim after them to fish. This daring act is a tourist delight.
