Vasija Secreta

RN 40, Valle Calchaquies

About

At the entrance of town, this large bodega also houses a small but interesting museum with winemaking equipment dating back to 1857. A good collection of black-and-white photos depicts life at the bodega in the late 1800s. There are huge oak barrels (ca. 1900) from Nancy, France, and barrels made from local wood that ruined the wine and thus weren't used much. The 1-hour tour ends with a tasting of the various wines, most of them sold to restaurants around Argentina. Vasija Secreta, unlike other bodegas, markets heavily for the local market.
