Westfield Carindale is a shopping centre located in the suburb of Carindale, east of Brisbane. The centre became the sixth-largest shopping centre in Australia on completion of redevelopment in 2012.The centre contains over 430 specialty stores and over 6,200 car parking spaces. Other features include a large food court, Brisbane City Council Library, and a Glasshouse Dining Precinct.First opened in 1979, it was Brisbane's largest shopping centre (at 116,884m2 or 1,258,139 ft2) until late 2006, when the renovated and extended Westfield Chermside on the north side overtook the title of largest shopping centre in Brisbane. In 1996 Suncorp floated the property as the Suncorp Property Trust.In March 1999 it became the first centre in Queensland to have two Major Department Stores in the one centre.[
