The Ye San Po Valley lies in a nature reserve tucked amongst layers of mountainous ranges 118 km southwest of Beijing in Hebei Province. The valley and surrounding regions are marked with dramatic cliffs and karst caves. The reserve also contains numerous sandalwood trees believed to be more than 1000 years old. In addition to beautiful scenery, the valley is also home to wide range of wildlife. A few Buddhist temples housing some the key figures in the Buddhist religion can also be visited by tourists.Trains reach the region from the Beijing South Railway Station in two hours.
