Situated on an elevated site in the grounds of Butlerstown Castle, seat of the Sherlock Family 1450-1650, which now lies in ruins. Located off the main Waterford to Cork Road N25 and just three miles from Waterford City, the Coach House was built in 1874 by the Northern Nationalist, Samuel Ferguson. In recent years the house has been tastefully restored and extended to provide guests with ensuite accommodation in seven bedrooms, most of which have a king size bed, with direct dial telephone, TV, and tea/coffee making facilities. Many of the bedrooms also have commanding views of the surrounding countryside, castle and mountains. At the Coach House, visitors can avail of the best of all worlds. Although a mere half mile from the main Waterford to Cork road, tranquility is guaranteed. In the vicinity country walks abound, with the Megalithic Knockeen and Gaulstown Dolmens a short distance away and the banks of the gentle River Suir just two miles to the north east.For the golfer, five of Ireland's top golf courses are situated at just 20 minutes drive from the front door. These are Waterford Castle, Faithlegg House, Waterford City, Tramore and Dunmore East. After a hard day on the course you can relax in the private sauna and ease those aches away. You can also be on the scenic Comeragh Drive or Nire Valley routes in half an hour.
