About

Galathea Kroen must be one of the most unique restaurants in Copenhagen. There is just no other place like it. The restaurant opened in 1953, and ever since then Rijs-taffel has been the specialty of the house. The owner of the restaurant has an enormous collection of old jazz records, which are frequently played in the restaurant. Imagine eating Rijs-taffel and listening to Duke Ellington, while sitting in a second-hand dealer's shop stuffed with old curious artifacts from all around the world. That about sums up the feeling of being at Galathea Kroen. Since the owner of Galathea also has a wine shop further down the street, you can have good wines at low prices. The latest addition is a cigar room, where the Cuban treasures rest at perfect humidity levels.
