Harricana

At ave. Atwater, west of Vieux-Montréal

About

One designer taking a unique cue from the city's long history with the fur trade is Mariouche Gagné, who was born on Ile d'Orleans in 1971. Her company recycles old fur into funky patchwork garments. The slogan: "Made from your mother's old coat." She also recycles silk scarves, turning them into tops and skirts. Her boutique is outside of the other districts mentioned here, but it's close to the Marché Atwater and the Lionel-Groulx Métro station.
