One of the top Canadian manufacturers of high-end winter jackets makes its clothes right in Montréal and has a warehouse-like factory store in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal. Like LL Bean in the U.S, Kanuk's first customers for the heavy parkas were outdoor enthusiasts. Today, their clientele includes the general public. The jackets aren't cheap -- the heavy-duty ones cost upwards of C$700 (£350) -- but they're extremely popular.
