About

Lakhnaur Sahib Gurudwara is one of the main pilgrim centers related with the Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh. As per historians, Lakhnaur village was the paternal place of Mata Gujari, wife of Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh. Guru Gobind Singh resided at the native place of his mother throughout his childhood. According to the myths of the region, Guru Nanak ji also came to this the place along with his son Baba Shri Chand in 1499 AD. Few other tales of this Gurudwara are also associated with the saints such as Shah Arfdeen, Pir of Karnal and Syed Shah Mira Bheek Sinhanvi. They paid homage to the last guru at this place, which was afterwards changed to a Sikh worship place. This place is considered revered as the guru learnt the art of handling weapons together with the art of khido-khundi, gatka baji, teer-andazi, neja baje and dhal talwar here only.
