Natural History Museum (NHM), which is currently under the Tribhuvan University (TU), is preparing to shift to Narayanhiti National Museum. The museum located at Chhauni, Swoyambhu, would be shifted to Narayanhiti museum as soon as the construction of Narayanhiti museum is completed. "Though we had 200 ropanis of land on the premises of TU, Kirtipur, eight years ago, we could not shift there due to various problems," said Keshav Shrestha, chief of the NHM, while addressing a programme organised to mark the 33rd anniversary of the museum. Shrestha added that preparations to shift the museum were already complete and TU and ministries concerned were positive towards the proposal.
