VISITORS Visitors will be guided for a quiet walk in the high pastures with a magnificent panoramic backdrop of the Taff Valley and on clear days the Brecon Beacons in the distance to take time out and meet the ponies, hear their stories and see them enjoying their new life grazing and playing in the sun, Your guide will take you by the ponds and walk you just touching the ancient woodland, a home of a rare and diverse wildlife that share the Farm with us. Perhaps taking time out to stop by the ponds and watch the life going on underwater quiet visitors may be treated to seeing the wild Buzzards, Kites, Goshawks, kestrel’s, Merlin’s hunting or just lazily soaring on the thermals that rise from the Valley floor below. For those interested in the Welsh Heritage of Pit Ponies we will explain the relationship between our locality and coal mining. Visitors will have a chance to meet the last few Welsh Pit Ponies. Back at the Centre you can meet the other residents of the Farm. Ducks, Geese, Chickens of all sorts of shapes & sizes, we often have Hens & chicks to feed and watch. Finally visitors can wash their hands and visit the Centre’s Gift shop and small Pit Pony Museum.
