This little sport shop belongs to a chain called Elmo Sport, named after the legendary fictional all-round sports hero created by Juhani Peltonen. Despite his near omnipotence, Elmo was a relaxed figure. The latter characteristic applies to the atmosphere of this shop. The shop may not be in the same league as big chains like Sportia or Intersport, but Urheilu Järvinen has its benefits. You can find certain things that are rarely available in bigger shops, for example extra spikes for track shoes. The shop does not concentrate on any one sport, but tries to cater for many different needs. The selections of sports clothes and ice hockey equipment are very good.
