About

Glanusk Park and Estate is privately owned by the Legge-Bourke family. It is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Usk Valley, Crickhowell, South Wales in the Brecon Beacons National Park and is one of the largest privately owned estates in Wales. The Estate has been inexistence for 200 years and has 400 acres of private parkland and beautiful buildings which allows an enormous variety of uses. These include private chapel for weddings, festivals, corporate events, fishing, film/tv, commercial, exclusive and unique holiday cottages and bespoke events. Events that have taken place: The Green Man Festival, CLA Game Fair, major film and tv productions, opera, agricultural shows and bespoke parties. The Estate lends itself to diverse requirements from clients. Flowing through the grounds of the Glanusk Estate is the famous River Usk, renowned for it's Brown Trout and, in recent times, Wales's premier Salmon River. Glanusk offers exclusive fishing breaks and has a resident ghillie, Stuart Jarvis, who is on hand should you require guidance or instruction. Derived from the Welsh name "Afon Wysg" (literally meaning "river abounding in fish"), the Usk starts in Mid Wales, initially flowing in an easterly direction to the north of the picturesque Brecon Beacons, before taking a more southerly course to join the Bristol Channel at Newport. The Estate has 5 miles of private river, one and a half miles of double bank Usk fishing, offering the visiting angler wonderful opportunities for both Brown Trout and Atlantic Salmon. Access to water is good with well maintained banks and some croys from which to fish.
