Caffe' Libero

No. 1, Lane 243, Jinhua Street Cuisines: French

About

Part coffee shop, part whiskey bar and part patisserie, Caffe' Libero makes you feel like you're walking back into another time in history. The coffee is good but nothing to write home about, but the real draw to this place are the desserts from the tiny bakery in the back. The treats served here are reminiscent of those from Paul or Boite de Bijou, but with tons of nostalgic atmosphere and at less cost to you. For a tasty twist on coffee, try the iced coffee with plum liqueur, and to satisfy your sweet tooth, most any of the pastries will do. One of the best is the black currant and pistachio sweet. The place is on the darker side on the interior, so it's better enjoyed for intimate gatherings of friends than solitary reading.
