Greenwoods is located in Kumily, atop a small hillock, hidden from the hustle and bustle of town. Its 26 rooms are spread over 6 acres of lush greenery. We have a large restaurant with open sides overlooking the manicured lawns and the swimming pool. Other facilities include a recreation centre, a mini gym, a craft centre, a library and a conference hall.) On entering our gates, a winding tarred road, flanked by tall trees, leads you to a porch with steps that lead up to the reception foyer. This main building houses the reception desk, a compact lobby, a multi cuisine restaurant, and spice shops on the ground floor flanking an open courtyard. From the reception foyer, wooden stairs lead you up towards the conference hall and the recreation centre. Wood has been extensively used for the whole area. The reception counter, buffet counter, stairs, balustrades and even your menu card comes as a four piece wooden slab! The wooden interiors are striking yet subtle and along with the sloping roofs and the terracotta floor, they add a quiet sophistication to the natural beauty all around. The cottages are all well spread out, built with gabled, sloping roofs. They lie in an arc centered by a children's play area with garden chairs, sea-saws and swings. Above the sloping play area lay the swimming pool with an adjacent kid's pool and changing rooms. The pool is open throughout the day and a life guard keeps a watch on all times Cobble stoned pathways leads one from the main building to the various cottages cutting across manicured lawns and tall trees.

Rithika (Honeymoon Villa with Plunge Pool)

Just perfect for that memorable honeymoon - individual cottages set under a grove of trees and surrounded by pretty flowering plants and a wall to ensure privacy. Exquisitely furnished, the space inside is indeed intimate with a large window extending along one side of the cottage with a view of the plunge Pool and Jacuzzi outside. The Plunge Pool in Rithika cannot be converted to Warm Pool.

Vanya (Forest Tree House)

A rubble strewn path leads upwards in the direction of the Periyar reserve. The cacophony of civilization recedes gradually as the path begins a steep ascent. Wrapped in a primal silence punctuated by the call of a bird, the stirring of leaves in the underbrush,trek past cardamom bushes, trees of teak and sandalwood, small clumps of vividly colored wild flowers. It is a bit of a climb, guests can opt to trek the entire distance to 'Vanya' or use a four wheel drive vehicle to get off where the path ends and then walk the rest of the distance. The forest is dense seeming to close in on those on the trail. Birds overhead let loose a volley of chatter. Presently the path leads to a little tree house built on a single stump of a tree. Crossing a drawbridge guests enter the tree house. At sunset the drawbridge is withdrawn in order to ensure the safety of residents. The design of the tree house ensures that guests are at all times in touch with wilderness outside. Inside, the decor inside is entirely ethnic and equipped with all requisite amenities. Airborne in the lush embrace of the forest, the view from the balcony outside looking out to the distance over the canopy of trees - watch the mist swirl in from the mountains sometimes and watch the fabulous variety of animals and birds as they go about the day's business. Food and beverages are supplied and laundry undertaken by a resident butler and valet who live next to the tree house and can be contacted on an intercom. Vanya Forest Tree House is about 4 kilometres away from the Resort. 30 Minutes steap trek required to reach the top of the tree house.

Elegant living and dining areas are furnished with wooden furniture and a palette of soothing colors set of by vivid splashes. Climb a flight of stairs to the opulent bedrooms where plush mattresses and louvered headboards await, soft lighting in discreetly set lamps.
