The capital city of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, is an amazing city and starting point for an exciting trip through so many destinations hidden within the Himalayan land. Shimla is the capital city and where we begin once you land in Chandigarh. Shimla is also named the Queen of Hill Stations because of the beauty this place is blessed with, making it the choice of summer capital of India in 1864. The natural bounties of this country is something not to be missed. An excursion to Kufri reveals the panoramic view of Himalaya where you’ll see many trekkers getting ready for a hike up to enjoy the view of the glade from above. While on winter, skiing is available on one of the oldest slopes here. The Mall Road is a famous shopping road as it’s the only one with many shops lined up along the straight road. The Jhakoo Temple is accessible with a shared taxi where you can see the ancient architecture and feel the fervour worship here. We’ll also visit Scandal Point, which is known to be the setting of the romance between a British lady and an Indian Maharaja. After supposedly eloping, they started a new community and city elsewhere, permanently banished from Shimla. We then head to Manali which is located at above 2,000m and a backpacking centre and a great honeymoon destination where you can get an incredible view of the Beas River and the mountains around you. From Manali, we can head to Solang Valley and enjoy a scenic ride through the highway and making a temporary stop at Nehru Kund, a famous spot where it was said the first Prime Minister drank from the Springwater. From the kund, we make our way to Solang Valley which is known for many exciting and adrenaline-pumping activates such as paragliding and zorbing. Solang Valley is connected to Sissu via the Atal Tunnel, the world’s highest single-tube tunnel located at over 3,048m which takes about 75 minutes to reach the other end. Then we’ll hop on a sightseeing around Manali after returning from the excursion and visit the Buddhist Monastery that’s been newly constructed and quickly becoming a favourite place of worship for many. The handicraft centre is there where you can get your handmade souvenirs home and gorgeous locally made products to wear. There’s a 450-year temple here that’s historically and religiously significance the Hadimba Devi Temple, where the Hidimbi Devi is worshipped. Then to Vashisht that’s known for the hot bath in the sulphur spring and the gorgeous temples that surround the spring. Enjoy an unforgettable trip through Shimla and Manali!
