Day Wise Itinerary

Bangalore is the most sought out cosmopolitan city in India. Bangalore is the capital of southern state of Karnataka. Kannada is the language spoken by the locals.Mysore or Mysuru was the capital of the erstwhile Princely state of Mysore. Wayanad District came into existence on 1st November, 1980 as the 12th District of Kerala consisting of Mananthavady, Sulthanbathery and Vythiri Taluks. The name Wayanad is derived from Vayal Nadu which means the land of paddy fields.

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival At Bangalore & Half Day Bangalore Sightseeing

  • Upon your arrival at Bangalore Airport//Railway Station, meet our representative who will greet you and assist you with a comfortable transfer to your hotel. Check in and relax. Bangalore is also known as 'The Garden City'. Also a major IT hub, Bangalore is India's very own Silicon Valley. Visit the famous sites of this vibrant cosmopolitan city to experience a fascinating mix of the old and new.
  • Bangalore Palace is a majestic palace enclosed by beautiful gardens and located in the heart of the city. Its architecture features a wooden structure with intricate carvings and is quite reminiscent of medieval castles and bygone royal culture.
  • Sri Radha Krishna Temple is a magnificent shrine and one of the largest ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) temples in the world.
  • Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath is home to museums that feature rare collections, such as Mysore paintings, leather puppets, Russian artists, and various sculptures. Venkatappa Art Gallery is a great stop for art lovers. It features sculptures, paintings, and a good collection of artefacts.
  • Lal Bagh Botanical Garden, previously known as the Rose and Cypress garden, got its name from the collection of red roses that bloomed all year round in this garden. It is considered one of the most diverse botanical gardens in South Asia and was built way back in 1760.
  • Vidhana Soudha counts as one of the most imposing as well as the most magnificent buildings in Bangalore. It rises to a height of almost 46 m and is mainly famous for housing the Legislative Chambers of the state government.
  • Your evening is free for leisure and your own activity. Bangalore is great for shopping and a fun night out. Shop for sarees, jewelery, silk, handicrafts and antiques. Go for a pub crawl in the heart of Bangalore! Return to your hotel in the evening. Overnight stay in Bangalore.

Day 2

Day 2: Transfer From Bangalore To Mysore Via Srirangapatna

  • Post breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Mysore (150Kms/3.5Hrs), popularly known as "The City of Palaces".
  • En route visit Srirangapatna located 18 km from Mysore. Srirangapatna is a small island formed by the river Cauvery and its tributaries. It was once the capital of the Mysore state under the legendary king Tipu Sultan and since then famous for its religious, cultural and historic importance. Prime attractions are Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Daria Daulat (Palace of Tipu Sultan) and Gumbaz (Mausoleum of Tipu Sultan).
  • Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple: A mesmerizing example of Hoysala and Vijayanagar architectural style, this temple was first built in 894 AD. It is one of the most important Vaishnavite shrines in South India.This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This idol is supposed to be the biggest statue of Vishnu in the reclining form (Adidesha) in Karnataka.
  • Tipu's Summer Palace: Also known as Daria Daulat Bagh. Tipu Sultan built this palace in 1784 and ruled Mysore from here for a short time after his father Hyder Ali wrested power from the Wodeyars in the middle of the 18th century. The palace is built in the Indo-Sarcenic style and in mostly made of teakwood. Its surrounded by a lush gardens on the southern bank of the river. The Daria Daulat Bagh palace is now converted in a museum and houses sketches, drawings, paintings along with block prints and Tipu's clothes.
  • Srirangapatna Fort: Known for its historical significance and architectural brilliance, this fort was originally built in 1454 AD. This Fort has four main entrances and has a double wall defence system, which is what makes it one of the toughest forts.
  • Gumbuz: Gumbaz is the Mausoleum of Tipu Sultan, his father Hider Ali and mother Fakr-Un-Nisa. Built in Persian style of architecture, Surrounded by beautiful garden named as Lalbagh, the imposing structure of Gumbaz is seen in the middle on an elevated platform.
  • On arrival at Mysore check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening visit Krishna Raja Sagara Dam built over the River Cauvery near to the conjunction of three rivers namely, Cauvery, Hemavathi & Lakshmana Thirtha. Get mesmerised by colorful & stunning Brindavan Gardens known for its symmetric design and illuminated terrace gardens. The main attraction at the Brindavan Gardens is the beautiful array of musical fountains. Coupled with laser lights, these fountains are synchronised to music and go live at the time when the garden is lit up.
  • Mysore is also a shopping destination. Explore shopping at the local market. Take home Mysore silk saris, Mysore sandalwood artefacts & handicrafts, incense sticks, coffee, wooden toys and traditional Mysore paintings called Ganjifa paintings.
  • Return back to hotel. Overnight stay at Mysore hotel.

Day 3

Day 3: Transfer From Mysore To Wayanad

  • Post breakfast checkout from hotel and proceed to Wayanad (180Kms/3.5Hrs). Wayanad a beautiful hill station located on the fringe of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Wayanad is an ideal destination to explore nature, wildlife and tradition. Set amidst picturesque landscape, it is home to some of the oldest tribes untouched by civilization, charming waterfalls, caves and sprawling plantations of tea, coffee, pepper, cardomom and rubber.
  • On arrival visit Pookot Lake, a placid freshwater lake. Enjoy boating amid fresh air and green ambience.
  • Later transfer to hotel and check in. Evening free for own activity. Overnight stay at Wayanad.

Day 4: Full Day Wayanad Sightseeing With Banasura Sagar Dam

  • After breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing of Wayanad, one of the most celebrated districts of Kerala and an ideal location for eco-tourism in India. Visit Banasura Dam, Pazhassi Raja Tomb, Kuruva Islands & Tholpetty Wild Life Sanctuary.
  • Visit Banasura Sagar Dam, it is reckoned as the largest earth dam in India & the second largest of its kind in Asia. The dam is made up of massive stacks of stones & boulders. The vast expanse of the crystal clear water of the dam dotted with small islands is a photographer’s delight. Enjoy nature walk and speed boat rides (on direct payment basis).
  • Pazhassi Raja Tomb - the memorial of Veera Pazhassi Raja & Pazhassi Raja museum. The museum has a limited display of local artefacts. One item that takes up a lot of attention is the sword of Pazhassi Raja.
  • Kuruva Islands or the Kuruva Dweep is popular among tourists for its calm and serene surroundings. This island is densely populated with rich flora & fauna. Dwelling deep into this island, you can sight attractive bridges made up of bamboo trees & other rare species of trees. An ideal spot for bird watchers. Entry is restricted up to 200 Tourists per day in each entry point.
  • Tholpetty Wild Life Sanctuary - is a part of the UNESCO’s Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Open to wildlife jeep safari twice a day (7am to 10am & 2pm to 5pm), you are bound to spot various animals like elephant herds, deers, big cats, panthers, tigers, langurs, bonnet macaques, bison, sambar deer, malabar squirrels, bears, the rare Slender Loris and bird species in their natural habitat during the 1.5-2 hour journey. Plantations of teak, eucalyptus, silver oak and rosewood cover about one third of the sanctuary.
  • Evening return back to hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Wayanad.

Day 5: Transfer From Wayanad To Bangalore- Departure From Bangalore
