Guwahati and its environs are rich in wildlife with several rare mammals such as Asian elephants, python, tiger and primates. Cherrapunji is the only place in India that experiences monsoon season throughout the year. Shillong has long been a favoured popular tourist destination given its natural beauty and pleasant weather and there are many places of interest here.
Day 01: Arrival At Guwahati
Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to hotel. Check-in Hotel and after refreshment if time permits visit Sankardev Kalakhetra- Cultural museum of Assam. Overnight in Guwahati.
Day 02: Guwahati – Langkawet
Day 03: Mawlynnong Hiking Tour.
Mawllynong tour: A full days tour to the cleanest village in Asia will reveal how the moulding of several generations of inhabitants led them to behave in the cleanly manner that the do. Visit Riwai to see a spectacular specimen of a living roots bridge. A 1 1/2 hour leisurely hike from Mawlynnong along the King's Path, an ancient highway built by kings of yore, takes one to Kyndiar, the abandoned village. Learn of the myth that surrounds the mysterious abandonment of this village. Lunch will be served at Mawlynnong at a local eatery.
Day 04: Langkawet - Cherrapunjee – Shillong
After breakfast you will be traveling to Cherrapunjee – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Drive back to Shillong for overnight.
Day 05: Guwahati Airport Drop
After breakfast check out and drop to Guwahati airport.
