Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is a hill town in the north eastern part of India. It is situated at an altitude of 1496 meters above sea level. This website endeavors to provide relevant information about the city.
Day 01: Guwahati – Shillong (Assam – Meghalaya)
Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong (140 kms / 4 hrs drive approx). Check-in Hotel and after refreshment if time permits we visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake, evening roam the Shillong famous Police Bazaar on foot. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 02: Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (Meghalaya)
After breakfast you will be traveling to Cherrapunjee (60 kms/ 2 hrs approx one way) – the wettest place on the earth. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Cherrapunjee visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. Drive back to Shillong for overnight halt. Note: Most of the waterfalls are dry during winter season.
Day 03: Shillong – Guwahati Drop (Meghalaya – Assam)
After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport (140 kms / 4 hrs drive approx).
