Also known as Navsacha Ganapati, you can worship Lord Shri Ganesha at the “Desire Fulfilling Shrine of Greater Mumbai.” Built in 1801 by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil, it’s currently one of the richest temples in India. Shree Ganesh is the first to be worshipped before beginning any new project or venture as he is the destroyer of obstacles (Vighnaharta). Shri Siddhi Vinayaka, the presiding deity of this temple is believed to grant one's desires and wishes as per a common belief among Vinayaka [Ganesha] devotees. In fact "Siddhi" means attainment. Then we go on a lunch break before heading to the next temple. It was built in 1801 by a childless, rich woman who prays to be given an offspring and believe that Lord Ganesha will grant the same to others.
  • Shree Mahalaxmi Temple is an important temple to Hindu believers, dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, who’s the central deity of Devi Mahatmyam. The temple itself is a historically wonderful building with architecture from the 1830s, constructed by Hindu merchant Dhakji Dadaji. The Mahalaxmi temple contains images of the Tridevi goddesses Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati. All three images are adorned with nose rings, gold bangles and pearl necklaces. The image of Mahalakshmi is in the center shown holding lotus flowers in tandem. The compound of this temple contains several stalls that sell flower garlands and other paraphernalia used by devotees for worship and as offering. You can also buy Souvenir from nearby shops. After enjoy the Darshan of this temple, we return to the hotel and spend the rest of your free time on leisure.
