Food is one of the cultural differences that really distinguishes us as individuals in our world community. Learning about food and how to prepare it is, perhaps, one of the most effective ways to immerse yourself into a foreign culture and become more comfortable within it. While in Thailand, we were lucky enough to visit the top rated cooking school in Chiang Mai . There are two types of cooking classes to choose from in Chiang Mai , in-town or farm based . As it's tagline insinuates, A Lot of Thai Home Cooking Class is not only in-town, it is at the owner's home. Most cooking schools in Chiang Mai offer to pick you up at your accommodation and transport you to the school for no extra charge. A Lot of Thai is no different here, however the transportation itself was the first thing that stood out to me as a sign that we were going to have a fun day. At about 9:15 in the morning (enough time to sleep in) we were picked up by Kwan in an old VW bus with "A Lot of Thai" written across the side. Kwan is a graphic designer (which I'll tell you more about later) and husband of the owner/teacher, Yui. After making a couple more pickup stops, we arrived at Yui and Kwan's home.
