For kids – and kids at heart – The Jelly Belly Factory Tour in Fairfield, CA is like being a part of Willy Wonka’s world, minus the Oompa Loompas. The free tour is open every day of the week, excluding major holidays. The best days to visit are weekdays, when the factory is in full swing. From cherry, watermelon and grape to tangerine, cinnamon, peach, and yes, even buttered popcorn, guides lead you past a rainbow of beans in all stages – including steam baths, sugar showers, lots of rest and of course, a nice polish - of their jelly bean journey. But the best part of the tour All of the samples and a trip to the Jelly Belly store, where you can pick up a bag of imperfect beans, known as “Belly Flops.” Inside tip: Looking for a more personal, tour Enroll in Jelly Belly University (JBU), and experience master confectioners creating Jelly Bellys and other treats.
