Ananda Buddha Vihara is located on acres of picturesque slopes of Mahindra Hills at Secunderabad, about 5 kms north of the Hussain Sagar Lake. This beautiful monastery is a comprehensive Buddhist Center in the heart of the capital city of AP. The Vihara is a pleasure to visit any time of day, especially when you're looking for a little peace and a lot of quiet. The main hall is huge, with a high arched ceiling and plenty of windows flooding it with light. The place simply radiates calm. A tall golden statue of Buddha stands at the end of the hall, which, like the intricately carved doors at the entrance, was donated to the center by a group of Buddhists from Rangoon.
