Arka Department Store

About

Built in 1913-14 in an early modernist style the Bracia Jablkowscy building was Warsaw's largest department store. Since the 1980s, when it underwent restoration, the building has hosted the Arka department store. It is worth visiting not only for the variety of shops offering nearly everything in the clothing line, but also for its fine ornate lobby, where you can admire a post-secessionist stained glass window (the largest in Warsaw) above the stair case and interesting reliefs by Edmund Bartlomiejczyk.
