About

One of the most picturesque countryside sites within 15 minutes' drive from the border of Moscow – The ARKHANGELSKOYE Palace (Countryside Mansion – 18-th century, which from 1787 belonged to Prince Golytsin and later - since 19-th century – to Prince Yusupov), surrounded with a regular Park resembling Versiles, sloping down to the steep banks of the Moscow river. The Palace has been preserved as a Museum since 1920 (partly still under restoration since 80-s), keeping interiors fully furnished with 19-th century hand-made furniture, porcelain, the vast Yusupov's library (over 16 thousand books), 400 paintings by Italian and French old Masters of the 18-19-th centures (Tiepolo, Uber Rober, J.David, G.Grau, M.Gerard, Veroneze school, F.Bushet, G.Ditziani, C.Verney, J.Tassel, G.Duge and others) and decorated with frescoes, tiled furnices, Italian sculptures and Venice mirrows. The winter Theatre designed by Paolo Gonzago preserves his painted decorative curtains. There is St.Mickle Archangel Church built in 1660 in the Park
