Arnos Vale Water Wheel Restaurant

Arnos Vale Rd, Plymouth

About

This restaurant occupies the weathered premises of a former 19th-century water mill used to crush sugar cane. You'll dine in the wheelhouse, with an antique oven and the wheel's original machinery still in place, while overlooking the verdant banks of the Franklin River. Menu items include Cornish hen, shaved-pear-and-Parmesan salad, deviled chicken, honey-roasted duck breast, caramelized breast of chicken with polenta and callaloo sauce, grilled fish served with a medley of sauces, and at least three different shrimp and lobster dishes. Three times a week, there's a performance of live Trinidadian/Tobagan music and dance; the animated sounds perk up the otherwise calm and quiet landscape of chirping tree frogs and splashing water.
