AskMe offers free maps of the city, and on the website, paid downloadable walking tours of Santiago in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Ask Me is sponsored by CORF0's InnovaChile, the Municipality of Santiago and SERNATUR, the Chilean government's tourism agency. Rather than walking along in formation beside a tour guide, download the Santiago audio walking tour to follow the steps of a coded walking tour with numbered map. Upon walking to your next destination, simply listen to the description and history of the item of interest. If you want to go back and visit again, there is no limit to how many times you may listen to the audio. Of course, there's no tour guide to ask pressing questions, but the tour starts (and stops) any time you like! At the moment the tour costs $10 and may is paid for and downloaded as an MP3.
