It is a beautiful lake situated in SAKHARAYAPATNA & it was built by the king RAJA SAKHARAYA. It is surrounded by mountains in three sides. Beside it there is a beautiful mountain known by the name SHAKUNAGIRI, in which you can get water at the top of the mountain.
Ayyaankere is one of the biggest lakes in Chikmagalore. The water from it is used for irrigating thousands of acres of Arecanut plantations in the surrounding areas of Sakarayanapattana.
