At Baru Bistro and Tapas, diners can expect authentic Latin-Caribbean flavors to fill their plates. The majority of the menu consists of small plates full of flavor. Shrimp Sautéed with Chorizo and Bell Peppers; Grilled Corn with Salao Cheese, Pink Sauce and Crunchy Potato Sticks; and Tilapia Ceviche with Avacado are among the favorites of the clientèle that line up at the Magazine Street location to try the tasty tapas. Diners can also choose from several full-portion entrées similar in style to the small plate offerings. Baru Bistro and Tapas encourages patrons to bring their own beverages; they do charge a nominal corking fee, however. - Bethany Culp
