About

Berkeley's Edible Schoolyard is changing the way kids eat and think about food. Located at Martin Luther King Junior Middle School, this non-profit garden and cooking program enables students to learn about food by planting, harvesting, composting and cooking first-hand. The program is the brainchild of Alice Waters, of Chez Panisse restaurant fame, and is integrated with the school’s curriculum and lunch offerings. Visitors are welcome, and the garden is open to the public  (by reservation only) on weekends and after school.
