When Jean Samuel Favarger met Jacques Foulquier in 1829 this chocolate fairy tale started. Both men, driven by their passion for chocolate and cocoa, founded the Favarger Chocolate Factory, one of the pioneer factories in the Swiss chocolate industry. The factory opens its doors every year during the Versoix Chocolate Festival which is a dream come true for anyone with a sweet tooth. While the festival only takes place once year in early March, the Favarger shop is open every week Monday through Saturday and is located in Versoix where chocolate lovers can put their hands on the famous Aveline chocolate.
