Berlin is celebrating New Year’s Eve in style – with around one million visitors gathering at the Brandenburg Gate to welcome in 2015! All the traditional treats are lined up – more than two kilometres of fun stages for shows, party tents, light and laser shows as well as a mass of food and drink stands. The spectacular firework display starts at midnight on the dot – like the clinking of glasses as Berliners and visitors toast the New Year in. The following parties will last well into the small hours! The party takes place across the Tiergarten on Straße des 17. Juni between the Brandenburg Gate and the Siegessäule (Victory Column). An international programme of live music and entertainment ensures a good mood, as do the party tents and catering stalls. The line-up also includes many national and international artists of distinction, including in recent years such acts as the Pet Shop Boys, Bonnie Tyler, the Scorpions, the Boss Hoss, and many others. The detailed entertainment programme for the big 2014 New Year's Eve party in Berlin will appear in mid-December. The organisers estimate that more than a million people celebrate a peaceful start to the new year at the Brandenburg Gate. Numerous TV broadcasters from around the world report live from Berlin's biggest New Year's party and transmit the images to the different corners of the world. Important Information Please note that the New Year's Eve celebration at the Brandenburg Gate is an open-air event. There are some party tents, but no general canopy. Bags undergo security checks at the entrances. Fireworks, bottles and sharp objects are not allowed on the event grounds. Admission is free.
