Brankfield Cottage is a self-catering property set just a short walking distance from the Shannon Erne canal and near Belturbet, County Cavan. The cottage has three bedrooms, with the space to comfortably sleep seven people. It includes oil-fired heating as well as a solid fuel stove in the living room, to ensure a cosy atmosphere even on those chilly evenings. Set midway between the waters of Lough Oughter and Upper Lough Erne, Belturbet is an ideal coarse fishing centre. A two-hour river cruise is available during summer months. Nearby Ballyconnell is also a well-known coarse fishing centre and above the village rises the impressive Slieve Russell. Local places of interest include Turbet Ireland Natural Park with Motte and Bailey, the Augustinian Abbey at Drumlane, Milltown, Corleggy Cheese Farm and Craft Shop. Besides the local amenities, the town serves as an ideal base for touring, with Enniskillen, Cavan, Belfast, Sligo, Omagh and Dublin all within reach.
