An oddity is Burail village located in the center of the modern planned city that is renowned across the globe as a monument to planning , to layout, to order, to modernity et cetera. Burail village gives the lie to all those claims! This is a village which was allowed to fester in the middle of this so-called city due to political interference and lack of foresight of the self proclaimed administrators of the city. All of them turned a blind eye to the eyesore that is Burail. Every tourist must visit this blight on the face of Chandigarh and talk about it so that this cancer is removed.
