Good food fans visiting the Burren Smokehouse in scenic County Clare can choose from a range of locally sourced products, such as 100% Burren smoked Irish salmon, trout and mackerel.Not satifisied just eating it You can also discover how salmon is cold and hot smoked and how they get it tasting so good. You can also have a close look at the first smokehouse kiln they ever used. The visitor centre also features a series of mosaics depicting the famous legend of Fionn McCool and the Salmon of Knowledge, the biggest wild salmon caught for the smokehouse and a six minute DVD presentation about the smoking process.The smokehouse gourmet shop offers a range of delicious foodstuffs and gifts, for visitors and mail order customers. Included in the smokehouse range are smoked organic salmon, trout and mackerel, local delicacies such as cheeses, fruit wine, mead, jams, honey and seaweed products. Other items in the shopping area enhanced by more mosaics by local artist, Vincent Browne, elmwood floors and Liscannor flagstones from the Cliffs of Moher, includes locally crafted knitwear, pottery, leatherwork, jewellery, CDs and books.Free car and coach park at visitor centre.
