The most popular of Nowa Huta's cinemas, it was inaugurated in 1953 with the screening of a propaganda film Trzy opowieści: three tales about the construction of Nowa Huta. It operated until 2002 when it was turned into a shopping centre. Its frontage with 12 columns and decorations on the entablature is a testimony to its socialist realist origin.
