About

A brand new architectural complex in the Øresund region, '8tallet' was standing largely empty and a little isolated until Cafe 8tallet opened in summer 2010 just a few hundred meters from Vestamager Metro station. Almost immediately, the cafe breathed new life into the giant apartment complex. Cafe 8tallet is more than just a sales advertizement, however: With its spectacular glass facade combined with cheap and informal canteen setting, Cafe 8tallet has both the view and the vision. The menu consists of changing two and three-course meals made with top-quality, traceable produce—and the burgers here have already been described as amongst Copenhagen's best by many satisfied diners. Children's menus are also available. The cafe also holds fortnightly concerts every other Tuesday featuring local artist Tobias Trier and guests, starting at 9pm and with free entry (reservation is recommended on these nights). Being so close to both the local gymnasium (high school) and Copenhagen University's Amager campus, the cafe caters to both students and those finishing off a walk around the new architecture or Naturcenter Vestamager.
