The Calcutta Ladies Golf club (CLGC) is one of the oldest ladies golf clubs in the world and the first of its kind to be established, controlled and managed independently by lady golfers on their own separate premises. It has never been in need of any male club members, committee members or office bearers. The club is located in the most picturesque part of the Maidan in the heart of Kolkata (earlier Calcutta). It has a fairly tough 9-hole golf course. There is also a beautiful 18-hole putting area in front of the club house where putting competitions are held regularly.
