Cardel Place (named for sponsor Cardel Homes) opened its doors in 2004. It is the top fitness and recreation facility in north Calgary. Activities include going swimming, playing hockey, climbing the indoor rock wall, and using the work out room. The planning for Cardel Place ensured that the facility is sustainable, eco-friendly, and complements the new communities in that part of the city. It has received over 5 million visitors since opening in 2004, proving it is a major draw in Calgary.
