Oscar Carré’s dream became a reality in 1887 when he opened the doors of his circus theatre to the public. You can take a guided tour of this magical and historical theatre that still functions as one of Amsterdam’s premier stages. You will see the sets and costumes being used for the current shows and learn more about the technical side of the theatre and its productions. You can also have a look at the dressing rooms, the rehearsal space in the attic and the stables (though the theatre no longer keeps circus animals).
