Casa d'Aste Stadion was opened in 1990, inspired from an idea by a Trieste antiques dealer with a passion for 19th and 20th Century paintings, and an architect who was an expert on Murano glass. It quickly became the most important auction house in the city. In the last few years, it has been noted by many national newspapers for its auctions of goods such as Hitler's watercolors, Napoleon's letters, Re Farouk's watches and furniture from the small, enchanting Duino castle, property of the Prince of Torre e Tasso. It also deals in antique arms and musical instruments. There is great professionalism here and it is also possible to participate in the auctions by fax.
