The chef here prepares the town's best regional cuisine, in a building near the university and the cathedral. To order the most classic dish, ask for fabada asturiana, a bean dish with Asturian black pudding and Avilés ham. A tasty hake cooked in cider is another option. Venison is a specialty in season (Oct-Mar). Try the province's traditional Cabrales cheese. Although it's been around for half a century, it has a contemporary air to it (the decor is in pink and granite) because it's filled with plants and covered with skylights. Casa Fermín is directly east of Parque de San Francisco.
