Castillo de las Torres Bermejas

Calle de Real de Alhambra

About

Take a look inside these fortified towers on your way up to the Alhambra after passing through the Puerta de las Granadas (Pomegranates Gate). You'll see a delightfully multi-colored ceiling in the main room, along with busts of Spanish kings and heroes. The towers are the earliest Moorish fortifications on the Alhambra hill, dating from the end of the 8th century and get their name, 'The Red Towers',  from their ocher-colored walls.
