A Chinatown (Chinese: 唐人街, Cantonese jyutping: tong4 jan4 gaai1) is historically any ethnic enclave of expatriate Chinese, Hong Kongese, Macanese and Taiwanese people (outside China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao). Areas known as 'Chinatown' exist throughout the world, including the Americas, Europe, Africa, Australasia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.
