Situated at an altitude of 2755 meter and 10 km from Dalhousie, Dainkund is the highest mountain in Dalhousie providing perfect scenery of the whole valley. Trekking is the most common way to reach the peak and is an amazing experience, with great views and the fresh mountain air. The sweet sound of the gentle breeze puffing through the trees makes a musical serenade which makes Dainkund popularly known as the singing hill! There is an Indian Air Force base at the peak of Dainkund and a left turn from there is the Pholani Devi Temple, which is the prime attraction.
