This place has a very interesting history/mythological lore. Dakhsha, the father of Sati(Shiva's consort) insulted and abused Shiva in front of his daughter Sati. The furious and sad daughter immolates herself in the sacrificial fire. The grief stricken Shiva sends a demon Virabhadra to kill Dakhsha. The temple complex has detailed depiction of the entire story. One tends to believe it because just 25 kilometers away is the place where Virabhadra the demon was invoked by Shiva. A must visit for those who are interested in folklore and mythology. The complex also has some grand trees fo Rudraksha the seed with great healing powers!
