About

Originally designed as a mosque kitchen to feed the Ottoman city's multifarious down-and-out, this place is still in good working order almost half a millennium later. Türkey's most renowned architect Mimar Sinan designed the picturesque Süleymaniye Mosque as well as the kitchen that goes with it. It is probably the oldest working kitchen in Istanbul. Dine in style, seated under the beautiful arched hallways or out in the courtyard under the branches of an ancient tree. The food served is unexceptional, but the scenic location and ambience are quite unique.
