In late October, Longyearbyen hosts the annual Dark Season Blues Festival [6] that draws large crowds. (78.220774,15.647875). The 9th ion takes palce form October 20th to 23rd 2011. This marks the beginning of the dark season when daylight and the sun is about to leave Svalbard.
