Mitchell’s Café at Kylemore Abbey is renowned for its traditional home-cooked food. Located on the famous Kylemore Abbey estate, the style and grace of the Abbey have inspired the interiors of our café. Our menu reflects Victorian and traditional style baking and cooking with recipes bestowed by the Benedictine nuns of Kylemore Abbey. Our chefs use fresh vegetables and herbs collected from the 6 acre Victorian walled garden on the estate and source ingredients locally where possible. We proudly serve only 100% Irish meat and vegetarian and celiac options are always available.Mitchell’s Café is a family friendly café. Half price children’s portions and free baby bowls for toddlers aged 4 and under are available. Our colouring sheets and crayons are available for little ones wishing to express their creative side.Mitchell’s Café welcomes visitors 7 days a week, all year. Mitchell’s Café is an accessible café with accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. Entrance ticket to the Kylemore Abbey estate is not required to dine at Mitchell’s Café. Sample a little taste of Kylemore…The Tea House by the Walled GardenThe Tea House is located just outside Kylemore Abbey’s 6 acre Victorian Walled Garden. As with Mitchell’s Café, our chefs use fresh ingredients from the garden and use the Kylemore Abbey Nuns’ recipes to create delicious cakes, scones and hearty soups for you to enjoy. The views from the Tea House are spectacular with an uninterrupted panorama of the Connemara National Park. Outside the Tea House there are picnic benches for adults and miniature picnic tables for children, which are part of the children’s play trail on the estate.Open 7 days a week, March to November. Henry’s Express Coffee ShopOpen during the summer months, Henry’s Express Coffee Shop is the place to pick up a take-away tea or coffee to enjoy while exploring the Kylemore Abbey estate.Serving a selection of sandwiches, healthy salads, cakes, homemade Kylemore Abbey fudge and Irish ice-cream, Henry’s Express Coffee Shop has all the items you need to fill your picnic basket to enjoy at any of our many scenic picnic areas on the estate.
