Farmers and other food producers bring their fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, flowers, and ethnic fare, sweet and savoury treats each week to the CoCo Markets. With weekly markets, the CoCo Markets represents the largest group of municipal markets in the country and are a not for profit initiative by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council. Whether food is a passion or just a flirtation, food lovers visit the markets each week to collect tasty treats, store cupboard necessities or simply wander around with a raw juice and a falafel in hand to peruse the colourful tapestry of farmers fare, crafts and cooking. Renowned as one of the “happiest sites on the planet” and a “Southside table magnificent to behold” by the latest Bridgestone Guide, and enveloped by a medley of delicious aromas, the heady market day atmosphere and community spirit is inimitable. The following markets take place every week regardless of the weather:Marlay Park, County Dublin, Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm. An outstanding venue, Marlay Park hosts a wealth of local producers. Discerning shoppers arrive early to avail of a broad range of artisan produce, including specialty and ethnic foods. Craft workers also showcase their goods, adding an interesting dimension to this farmers market. Located behind Marlay House, overlooking the Dublin mountains.Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, Sundays 11am-4pm. The People's Park comes alive every Sunday as market vendors bring their colourful collection of food and crafts to this most beautiful park, located on the coast. This market boasts a very cultural dimension, with Japanese, Croation, Lebanese, Italian, French, Chinese, Indian, Greek, Pakistani, Polish, Palestinian and Czech produce available, not to mention an abundance of Irish merchandise.
